Calgary:
Made it with a surplus of time. The checkin agent was VERY accommodating and moved a single passenger who had as yet to checkin on the aisle seat to another aisle seat so that we could be seated together the whole flight. Security however was another story. I was "randomly" selected for a pat down. She was very nice about it however. But I also forgot about an inch of water in my water bottle so was escorted just outside of security to swig it down and then had to come back through again. No search this time. An leisurely dinner at Chili's and then off to board. We are on our way!!
Heathrow:
The flight was good. Economy Plus was everything we hoped for and more. The seats were spacious and there was noise cancelling headphones, blanket and pillow awaiting us. They even greeted us with a drink!
They served a hot dinner. We had the cannelloni and it was very good. But the desert was amazing!! It was light and airy but nice and sweet. And a traditional cuppa. Oh and Mel honey you were right - free booze!
Soon we were on our connecting flight to Edinburgh. We made it! A little tired and a little excited we grabbed our luggage and went to pick up our car.
The guy upgraded us to a Mercedes Benz. Kels did so well driving not only on the other side of the road but also during rush hour to get us to our first night's lodgings. I found being in the passenger seat on the wrong side...unnerving.
We found our little flat (and oh how little it is!!) and met with the co-owner. She showed us the ropes and told us where to go for good eats and groceries if we needed. We showed and went exploring for dinner.
We walked until we found the little ramen shop she had recommended. It was exactly what a Japanese ramen shop would be in Japan. Lol yup our first meal in Scotland was Japanese...oh the irony.
After we stopped at Tesco's (local supermarket) and picked up some goodies (Irn-bru!) and breakfast for tomorrow as we have a full kitchen. The sky was a lovely lavender sunset walking home.
And now before we pass out we sign off.
Up tomorrow - Edinburgh Castle, Real Mary King's Close and other sightseeing.
